Plumbing Emergencies—Learn the Signs
Plumbing Solutions of Idaho expert tips
Plumbing emergencies can happen quickly or begin out of sight, causing damage before we’re aware of their existence. That’s why it’s critical to know the signs of a potential problem. Water damage can be catastrophic and cause thousands of dollars in damage to our homes. And it goes without saying that being without water entirely due to an emergency is just not workable for very long. Calling for help as soon as a problem is detected or suspected is the fastest and least costly path to a solution.
Look for these signs that a plumbing emergency is happening, or about to happen, in your home.
Leaking Pipes
Leaks usually start out of sight. By the time we notice them, they may have already caused some damage and turned into a real emergency. Leaks left to themselves can cause extensive damage to floors, walls, cabinetry, and other building materials. That’s why it’s critical to call a plumber as soon as a leak is detected or even just suspected. Leaks often begin out of sight and can be difficult to find. A certified plumber can repair the leak and find out the source to prevent further damage. Our certified plumbers can find the leak at its source, seal it, and stop further damage in its tracks.
Broken Main Water Line
The main water line to your home is your responsibility, even though it comes to your home through the municipal water supply. When this line is broken or becomes clogged, your water supply will cease. Signs of a main water line problem include water seeping around the pavement or sidewalk in front of your home, or a decrease in water pressure. If you suspect a problem with your main water line, contact our emergency services team right away.
Sewer Line Problems
The sewer line going from your home takes waste water and transfers it to the sewer line beneath the street. Sewer lines can become corroded over time, causing leaks. They can also suffer damage from tree roots. The signs of a broken sewer line include uneven water levels in your toilets, clogged drains, a damp or wet lawn with an accompanying foul odor, or stains in the basement. If you’re faced with a plumbing emergency, contact Plumbing Solutions of Idaho right away!
