• Water-Saving Toilets. Did you know you 30% of your indoor water usage gets flushed away through the toilet? If your toilet was installed prior to 1994, you can cut back on water waste by installing an efficient ultra-low flush toilet, which is rated to use about 1.28 gallons per flush. For even more efficiency, you can try a dual-flush toilet, which features two buttons—one for liquid wastes and one for solids. These dual flushers are already a common choice in Australia and Europe, and are becoming more so in the United States.
• Water-Saving Showerheads. You won’t need to sacrifice a nice strong stream of hot water with, and replacing your high-water usage showerhead can save you as much as 70% on your current shower water usage.
